- October 27 – Frank Honesty, a worker on the Washington, Ohio and Western Railroad, is struck and killed by a freight train near Vienna. Honesty had stepped off the railway to allow a train to pass, but failed to notice the one following closely behind it before he resumed his work on the tracks.[1]
