August
- August 7 – An explosion at Ditchley completely destroys the factory at which jovite, a high explosive, is manufactured and seriously injures a worker.[1]
September
- September 28 – John Ballinger commits suicide by shooting himself in the head in the tool house of the Union Farm in Alexandria.[2]
October
- October 6 – While hunting near Accotink along with his 16-year-old niece, 28-year-old John A. Morgan is killed when his gun, which he had leaned against a tree, falls and discharges.[3]
