Edward Nakpodia

Edward "Eddie" Nakpodia was a 23-year-old ministry student who was one of four people shot to death by James L. Breeden during an early morning robbery at the Roy Rogers at 6227 Little River Turnpike in Alexandria on March 6, 1976.

Nakpodia, a Nigerian immigrant who was a second-year ministry student at Luther Rice College in Alexandria, was at the restaurant to pick up his wife Julie, who was an employee there.[1]

Nakpodia was buried in the National Memorial Cemetery.

K. Bruce Miller, the president of Luther Rice College, where Nakpodia had enrolled as a student in January 1973, said at the time of Nakpodia's funeral that the college had established a scholarship fund in memory of Nakpodia.[1]

The school ceased operations and closed the following year.
