John K. Riffe
John Kendrick Riffe (June 13, 1954 – January 2, 1974) was a 19-year-old man who committed suicide with a 12-gauge shotgun at his family's home at 3912 Rive Drive in the Mount Vernon section of Alexandria on January 2, 1974.[1][2]
Riffe had shot and wounded 25-year-old Fairfax County Police officer James G. Nagler shortly before his suicide. Officer Nagler had been called to the house because of an argument between Riffe and his mother Bea.[1][2]
