- July 10 – 29-year-old Harvey White shoots his 29-year-old brother-in-law Charles O. Garner to death at Garner's Bailey's Crossroads home to settle an argument.[1][2]
- July 21 – 23-year-old James F. Brooks is killed when he crashes his car into the rear of a tractor trailer on Route 211 in Centreville.[3]
