Events that took place in Fairfax County in June, 2001:
- June 15 – 29-year-old Sterling W. Fisher is sentenced to life plus 30 years in prison for stabbing Paramjit Singh to death during a robbery at the Texaco station at 252 Maple Avenue West in Vienna on July 21, 1995.[1]
- June 17 – Four members of the MS-13 youth organization, Brian O. Sanchez Maradiaga, Melvin O. Lopez, Kenneth G. Penaranda Sanchez, and Jorge A. Cedillos, beat 22-year-old Fredy Reyes-Castillo to death in the Brown's Chapel Park in Reston for falsely claiming to be a member of the organization.[2][3]
- June 25 – 90-year-old Alzheimer's disease sufferer Earl O. Hannsz goes on a dementia-inspired stroll in Reston and walks into Lake Anne, where he drowns.[4]
