Events that took place in Fairfax County in March, 1949:
- March 4 – 22-year-old Julian V. Davidson is arrested by Officer John A. Wahl after Davidson drunkenly crashes the Aeronca trainer he was flying beside Lee Highway, just west of Fairfax Circle. Davidson's passenger, Charles Eakin, was not hurt, and the crash occurred just a few hundred feet from the Circle Motor Court, which was owned by Davidson's father. Davidson's arrest is the first charge of drunken flying brought in Fairfax County.[1]
