Mary E. Sikes
Mary Etta Sikes (February 10, 1916 – January 11, 1970) was a 53-year-old woman who was fatally shot by her 49-year-old husband William to settle an argument at their home at 6819 Jackson Avenue in Falls Church shortly before midnight on January 10, 1970.[1][2]
Mary and her husband had been arguing for several hours when she turned off the TV set in the living room. In response, William, who had also been drinking, shot her in the head with a .38 caliber revolver. She died several hours later.[2]
