Events that took place in Fairfax County in May, 2018:
- May 18 – 9-year-old Wesley C. Lipicky is fatally injured when his head is crushed by a motorized room partition in the gym at the Franconia Elementary School in Alexandria. He dies of his injuries in the hospital later that evening.[1]
- May 21 – 22-year-old Chardnay Southern fatally stabs her uncle, 30-year-old Courtney Southern, to settle an argument at the family home at 8015 Steadman Street in the Mount Vernon Valley neighborhood in Hybla Valley. Courtney Southern is taken to the hospital, where he is pronounced dead.[2]
- May 30 – A three-year-old boy is killed when he falls from a bedroom window of a 26th-floor apartment at 5601 Seminary Road in the Skyline Towers apartment complex in Baileys Crossroads.[3][4]
