Natalie Ney

Natalie Ann Ney (September 6, 1975 – December 14, 1989) was a 14-year-old Herndon High School student who suffered a severe allergic reaction to cashews in a piece of candy given to her by a friend and died a few hours later at the Reston Hospital Center of an acute asthma attack on December 14, 1989.[1][2][3]

Ney was known to have an allergy to peanuts, but was not warned that the candy she had been given contained cashews, which are often processed on the same equipment as peanuts.
