- October 20 – 16-year-old Thomas L. Grogg shoots 28-year-old laborer Hallie Hollis nine times in the head with a .22 caliber pistol in the parking lot of the Vulcan Materials Company at 10000 Ox Road in Lorton, making Hollis the second homicide of the year in the county.[1][2][3]
