- October 12 – 23-year-old Joseph A. Robles, a retail distributor of recreational agricultural products and pharmaceuticals, is shot and mortally wounded by Lamore S. Rowe during a botched robbery at his house at 7208 Neuman Street in Springfield. Robles lives for six weeks before dying of complications from his injuries on November 25.[1][2][3][4]
