Yovani Amaya Gomez

Yovani Amaya Gomez (April 5, 1987 – August 15, 2016) , also known as Giovanny Martinez and Jovany Martinez, was a 29-year-old man who was shot and killed by Fairfax County Master Deputy Sheriff Patrick McPartlin outside the Inova Fairfax Hospital in Falls Church on August 15, 2016.[1][2]

Gomez had suffered a mental break and was attacking the hospital's security guards with a metal sign post. MDS McPartlin responded to the commotion, and when Gomez advanced on him with the sign, McPartlin shot him three times in the chest.[1][2]
