Events that took place in Fairfax County in August, 1904:
- August 2 – 48-year-old Southern Railway Section Boss Allen Payne is killed near Clifton when he steps out of the way of a southbound train and is instead struck by the northbound train, the Number 2 Chesapeake and Ohio.[1]
- August 24 – 30-year-old laborer Walter Massey is mortally injured while attempting to board a moving train in Clifton. Massey is taken to the Alexandria Hospital, where he dies of his injuries that evening.[2]
