Events that took place in Fairfax County in August, 1927:
- August 5 – 55-year-old postmaster James J. Sangster dies in an early morning fire that completely destroys the store of James J. Dunn in Burke.[1]
- August 14 – 18-year-old Edith Rudacille is mortally injured when motorcyclist Joseph W. Taylor strikes her as she crosses a road in Merrifield. She is taken to the Georgetown Hospital, where she dies the next day.[2]
