- August 24 – 22-year-old David S. Holmes, 18-year-old Jodi M. Zeinalgol and her 16-year-old sister Selena L. Zeinalgol are killed when 27-year-old Allen Bushong attempts to illegally pass another vehicle and loses control of the pickup truck he is driving, crashing into a utility pole on Lorton Road in Lorton.[1][2]
