- August 7 – 38-year-old Oscar Rivera is stabbed to death by his 20-year-old roommate, Jose Ivan Lopez Castro, in their shared apartment in the Providence Hall Apartments in the 9100 Block of Barrick Street in the Merrifield area.[1]
