Dylan S. Cooper

Dylan Shawn Cooper (December 3, 1992 – July 15, 2012) was a 19-year-old man who was fatally electrocuted by downed power lines near his home in Falls Church during the derecho of June 29, 2012.[1]

The storm caused a flood of calls to 911, which caused delays in dispatching of rescue crews to the scene. By the time rescuers arrived, 30 to 40 minutes had passed.[1][2]

Cooper was taken to the Virginia Hospital Center in Arlington and eventually transferred to the Halquist Memorial Inpatient Center hospice in Arlington, where he died on July 15.[1][3]
