- February 2 – 40-year-old Edwin J. Miller shoots himself in the head with a .32 caliber pistol in the bedroom of his Herndon home.[1]
- February 8 – 8-year-old John Cordwell is killed when his sled slides under a truck driven by 24-year-old Malcolm Wilmer, Jr. at the intersection of Dunmanton Boulevard and Lynwood Street in Alexandria.[2][3]
