Events that took place in Fairfax County in February, 1958:
- February 6 – 52-year-old storekeeper Percy Simms is shot to death by 21-year-old Army cook Garvie Haven Hall during a botched robbery at his store in Lorton.[1][2] Hall and his accomplice, 28-year-old hospital corpsman Calvin W. Pruitt, flee the scene, leaving untouched the $300 in the store's cash register.[1]
- February 13 – 40-year-old guard Michael J. Hughes, Jr. is beaten and stabbed to death in the day room of Dormitory 13 at the Lorton Reformatory by Gumersindo P. Gomez and John F. Schoppel.[3][4]
