- February 14 – 18-year-old Uriel Espinosa Cruz fatally shoots 17-year-old Matthew Ortega near a vacant house on Jeb Stuart Square in the Faircrest neighborhood of Centreville.[1]
- February 16 – Fairfax County Fire and Rescue Department Chief Richard R. Bowers, Jr. announces his retirement, effective April 30.[2]
