Fort Belvoir
Fort Belvoir is a large U.S. Army reservation in southeastern Fairfax County.
In 1920, the Army moved its Engineer School to Camp Humphreys from its former location at the Washington Barracks.
In 1987, the U.S. Army Engineer School began transferring to Fort Leonard Wood in south-central Missouri. The transfer formally took place on June 1, 1988.[1]
