Ji Young Yoo

Ji Young Yoo was a 55-year-old man who was fatally shot by a Fairfax County Police officer at his house at 5223 Stonington Drive in the Kings Park West neighborhood of Fairfax on September 7, 2000.[1][2]

Yoo had been using a splitting maul to destroy furniture in his house, which he refused to drop when ordered to do so by the officers, whose commands were translated into Yoo's native Korean by his wife.[1] Yoo was flown to Inova Fairfax Hospital, where he died.[2]
