Events that took place in Fairfax County in July, 1976:
- July 2 – 23-year-old Robert E. Knight is killed in Reston when he crashes his motorcyle into a stop sign on Wiehle Avenue.[1]
- July 18 – 22-year-old Donnie L. Edwards is fatally shot by Francis A. Anglim at Brown's Chapel in Reston. Edwards is taken to Fairfax Hospital, where he is pronounced dead.[2][3]
- July 28 – 18-year-old William M. McGinty is sentenced to 20 years in prison by Judge Arthur W. Sinclair for the rape and murder of Anita Cunningham on August 26, 1975.[4]
