- July 8 – 19-year-old Kamal S. Muwwakkil is sentenced to two life terms plus two years in prison by Judge Jack B. Stevens for the shotgun murder of Dale H. Fredericks during an attempted carjacking in the Penn Daw neighborhood of Alexandria on June 11, 1993.[1]
