Events that took place in Fairfax County in February, 1903:
- June 10 – 30-year-old Charles D. Keyes is fatally injured when local freight train number 62 crashes head-on into a work train near the Ditchley and Ravensworth stations. Keyes is pinned under the wreckage of one of the engines and it takes between 2 and 3 hours to free him, after which he is taken to the Alexandria Hospital, where he dies.[1][2][3]
- June 22 – John Cubbage, a laborer working on the double-tracking of the Southern Railway line, misunderstands a shouted warning and steps onto the main track, where he is struck by the southbound number 9 train and fatally injured near Edsall's Station. Cubbage is placed on the northbound number 40 train and taken to Alexandria, but dies during the trip.[4][5]
