- June 10 – John Kowalczyk is shot to death in Vienna by hired killer Ralph N. Shambaugh, Jr..[1][2]
- June 11 – 38-year-old Marine Gunnery Sergeant Dale H. Fredericks is murdered in front of his friend's Penn Daw home in Alexandria by 19-year-old Kamal S. Muwwakkil, who blows Fredericks' head off with a shotgun in order to steal his 1987 Mazda RX-7.[3][4]
- June 28 – The Burke Centre Mini-Library in Burke is heavily damaged in an arson fire.[5]
