Karen S. Deck

Karen S. Deck was a 42-year-old Reston woman who was shot in the head by her ex-boyfriend, Ronald L. Robertson, while he attempted to unload a 9mm pistol she had found in a closet in his apartment at 11900 Winterthur Lane #PH-3, on October 23, 2009. [1][2]

Robertson, a chronic alcoholic, did not notify authorities after accidentally shooting Deck. Instead, he called his mother and she notified police, who discovered Deck's corpse on October 24.[2]
