- March 20 – The Fairfax County School Board votes to close the 48-year-old Annandale Elementary School at the end of the school year.[1]
- March 24 – The Fairfax County Board of Supervisors votes unanimously to create a special tax district in Reston to finance the construction of a community center.[2]
