- May 3 – 39-year-old Robert Thaxton is convicted of second-degree murder and sentenced to 18 years in prison for the fatal shooting of 25-year-old Walter G. Hill.[1]
- May 31 – Adelard L. Brault is appointed by Judge Paul E. Brown as the Supervisor for the Providence District, replacing James Keith, who left to run for a seat on the Fairfax City Council.[2]
