- October 6 – 30-year-old Paul T. Hussey fatally stabs 23-year-old Valerie J. Colavolpe at their shared house on Glencourse Lane in Reston to settle an early morning dispute.[1][2]
- October 6 – 25-year-old John W. Tucker pleads guilty to involuntary manslaughter for fatally injuring 27-year-old Craig D. Anteroinen by punching him in the head in the parking lot of the Denny's restaurant in the City of Fairfax on May 8.[3]
