The Old Keene Mill Shopping Center is in Springfield.
The shopping center was originally developed by Eugene N. Hooper, who purchased three tracts of land totaling nearly 12 acres for the center between 1965 and 1966.[1]
Built in 1968 as the Olde Keene Mill Shopping Center, it was bought in 1976 by the Federal Realty Investment Trust for $2 million.[2]
At some point, FRIT wisely chose to drop the pretentious E from the center's name.
