- September 9 – The nineteenth annual Fairfax County Horse Show opens.[1]
- September 14 – Frank Lewis is shot to death near his home in Bailey's Crossroads by Constable C. B. Runyon.[2]
- September 24 – The new cinder block and brick station of the Fairfax Volunteer Fire Department is formally dedicated.[3]
