Events that took place in Fairfax County in 1932:
January
- January 19 – 5-year-old Edwin O. Dawson is killed in Fairfax when he runs across Lee Highway and into the path of an automobile driven by 20-year-old Marshall Doak.[1]
February
- February 1 – The county's adoption of the county manager form of government becomes effective, replacing the county road engineer form it had previously used. County Engineer F. N. Larkin is appointed the county manager, becoming the county's business executive and county purchasing agent in addition to his engineering duties.[2]
March
- March 2 – Anticipating the passage of the Byrd Road Act, which allows the county to turn over maintenance of the county's secondary roads to the State highway commission, the Fairfax County Board of Supervisors announces its plans to eliminate the Fairfax County Highway Department on April 1. County Manager F. Norvell Larkin announces his resignation, effective July 1.[3]
June
- June 15 – The Fairfax County Board of Supervisors votes to adopt the trial justices' act as part of the county judicial system, creating a court to try misdemeanors in place of the existing Justice of the Peace system.[4]
- June 21 – Judge Paul E. Brown is appointed as judge of the Trial Justice Court by Circuit Court Judge Walter T. McCarthy.[5]
August
- August 17 – F. Norvell Larkin resigns his positions as county engineer and county manager. Randolph M. Loughborough is appointed acting county manager pending Larkin's replacement.[6]
September
- September 9 – The nineteenth annual Fairfax County Horse Show opens.[7]
- September 14 – Frank Lewis is shot to death near his home in Bailey's Crossroads by Constable C. B. Runyon.[8]
- September 24 – The new cinder block and brick station of the Fairfax Volunteer Fire Department is formally dedicated.[9]
