- June 5, 1998 – Following a four-hour standoff with the Fairfax County Police, 21-year-old Brian McReight shoots and mortally injures himself at the Kings Park Shopping Center in Burke. He is taken to Inova Fairfax Hospital, where he dies.
- June 5, 2012 – 27-year-old Dejon L'Air Williams crashes her Honda Civic on Lee Highway in Fairfax, killing herself and her 5-year-old daughter Faith and mortally injuring her 7-year-old daughter Victoria. Victoria is taken to Inova Fairfax Hospital, where she dies of her injuries two days later.
