Vicky O. Armel
Vicky Anne Owen Armel was a 40-year-old detective for the Fairfax County Police Department who was shot to death on May 8, 2006, by 18-year-old Michael W. Kennedy at the Sully District Police Station in Chantilly.[1]
Armel, a 9-year veteran of the department, was the first Fairfax County Police Officer shot to death in the history of the department. She had previously worked for 8 years for the Fairfax County Sheriff's Office.[2]
She was the mother of two elementary school-aged children, Thomas and Masen, and the wife of Tyler Armel, another Fairfax County detective.[2]
