Events that took place in Fairfax County in 1905:
April
- April 6 – 24-year-old deputy sheriff George A. Malcolm is shot and mortally wounded by railroad laborer Joseph Leanto while trying to arrest him near Lorton Valley. Malcolm is taken to the Emergency Hospital in Washington, D. C., and a posse is raised to capture Leanto. Leanto is shot during his arrest, and sent to the same hospital as Malcolm. Both men die about an hour apart late the following evening.[1][2][3]
October
- October 5 – Wythe Blake is struck by a train and mortally injured near Springfield Station. Suffering a fractured skull, he is taken to the Emergency Hospital in Washington, D.C., where he dies later that afternoon.[4][5]
