- May 8 – Three-year-old Thomas R. Cuenco and his 3-month old sister Olivia J. Cuenco are drowned in the bathtub of their Alexandria home by their mother.[1]
June
- June 3 – Circuit Court Judge Walter T. McCarthy appoints Harry L. Carrico as judge of the Fairfax Trial Justice Court.[2]
- June 22 – 27-year-old laborer Archie Mullens shoots his 24-year-old wife Edna in the face with a .32 caliber revolver, killing her, at her mother's home in Lincolnia. Mullens flees the scene and commits suicide in Fairfield, Virginia, where his corpse is discovered on July 3.[3][4][5]
October
- October 25 – 46-year-old James A. Fincham is killed when he is struck by a car driven by 24-year-old Private Theodore C. Sipe on Rout 211 near Fairfax.[6][7]
