- April 2 – Mack Reaves, III is sentenced to life in prison plus ten years by Judge Jane Marum Roush for the March 18, 1992 murder of Marilyn M. Bandera in her Mount Vernon home.[1][2]
- April 3 – The Inova HealthPlex emergency care center opens in the Franconia area of Alexandria.[3]
