Events that took place in Fairfax County in December, 2008:
- December 9 – 81-year-old Thomas K. Appleberry, Sr., fatally shoots his 81-year-old wife, Rachel, and 53-year-old son Thomas, Jr. before committing suicide in the family home at 9622 Cinnamon Creek Drive in Vienna.[1]
- December 10 – The BB&T bank at 6220 Old Dominion Drive in McLean is robbed. Fairfax County Police chase the suspect, 19-year-old Hailu Brook, into Arlington County, where they fatally shoot him.[2]
