Events that took place in Fairfax County in November, 2008:
- November 2 – 49-year-old cab driver Mazhar Nazir is shot to death by thrill killer Evan Gargiulo in Tysons Corner.[1][2]
- November 12 – 66-year-old Richard L. Whitenton is killed when his 2005 Harley Davidson motorcycle strikes a 2004 Nissan minivan driven by a 38-year-old woman who had run the red light at the intersection of Legato Road and Lee Highway in Fairfax. Whitenton is airlifted to Inova Fairfax Hospital, where he is pronounced dead.[3]
- November 15 – 43-year-old Morton Fuchs is shot to death by James Becker in the Rose Hill neighborhood of Alexandria to settle an argument.[4]
- November 16 – 22-year-old Erika Yancey is stabbed to death outside her apartment at 2320 Dulles Station Boulevard in Herndon by Marcus Williams.[5]
- November 19 – Brothers Terence and Ryan Strope and their friend, Andres Yelicie, are stabbed and mortally wounded during a home invasion robbery at their Springfield home by Jelani Slay and Delante T. Cook, who masquerade as police officers to attempt to force compliance from their victims.[6][7] The three men are taken to Inova Fairfax Hospital, where they die shortly thereafter.[6]
- November 27 – 56-year-old Frank J. Hubert is found frozen to death near the Engleside Plaza shopping center at 8646 Richmond Highway in Alexandria.[8]
