- December 1 – 27-year-old Luis Ernesto Bonilla is found stabbed to death in a wooded area near the 7100 block of Fairchild Drive in Alexandria.[1]
- December 22 – 17-year-old Nicholas Giampa fatally shoot his girlfriend's parents, 48-year-old Scott Fricker and his 43-year-old wife Buckley Kuhn Fricker in their home at 2615 Black Fir Court in Reston then shoots himself.[2]
