Elaine N. McConnell

Elaine Nunez McConnell (February 12, 1927 – January 10, 2016) was a businesswoman and supervisor for the Springfield District from 1984 to 2007.

In 1983, BoS Chairman John F. Herrity recruited McConnell to seek the Republican nomination for the Springfield District seat to replace the two-term incumbent, Marie B. Travesky, despite his public proclaimations of neutrality.[1][2] Following a bitter campaign, the conservative McConnell ousted Travesky in the Republican primary of June 14.[3]
