Gbassay Koroma

Gbassay "Omar" Koroma (b. May 1, 1993) is a former high school student and murderer.

On May 27, 2011, Koroma settled an argument with his father, 40-year-old Francis Koroma, by stabbing him in their apartment at 5108 Woodmere Drive, #102, in Centreville.[1]

The elder Koroma was taken to the Inova Fairfax Hospital, where he early the next morning.[2] The younger Koroma was taken to the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center.

Koroma's trial was originally scheduled for May 7, 2012, but he instead pleaded guilty on March 9.[2]

On June 8, 2012, Koroma was sentenced by Circuit Court Judge Charles J. Maxfield to 20 years in prison, with 10 years suspended if Koroma meets conditions set by the court.[3]
