- June 15 – 36-year-old James T. Lee is shot to death at his estranged wife's house at 7629 Cork Glen Way in Springfield by Terry Vincent.[1]
- June 19 – 9-year-old Unmi Chung drowns in the swimming pool at the Yorkville Cooperative apartment complex in Fairfax. Chung is taken to the Fairfax Hospital, where she is pronounced dead.[2]
- June 20 – The Fairfax County Board of Supervisors votes to change the name of the Springfield Bypass to the Fairfax County Parkway.[3]
