- July 5 – Marc A. Friedlander shoots his 41-year-old estranged wife Zitta to death in the parking lot of the Mitre Corporation in McLean.[1]
- July 21 – 29-year-old Barbara C. Guice is stabbed to death in the parking lot of the Fairmont Gardens apartments in Annandale by Edwin L. Jury, Jr..[2][3][4]
- July 29 – Raymond T. Ball is found not guilty of murder for the fatal shooting of Leon Moore and related charges, including shooting his former girlfriend Leslie McCain in the neck, at her house at 4104 Hummer Road in Annandale early on the morning of July 15, 1983.[5][6][7]
