Luther Jackson Middle School is in Falls Church.
History
The school was originally opened in September 1954 as the Luther P. Jackson High School, the first high school for black students in Fairfax County.[1] The school was named after noted African American historian and civil rights activist Luther P. Jackson.
It remained a segregated school until 1965, when the school was integrated and converted to an intermediate school.[1]
