Events that took place in Fairfax County in October, 1952:
- October 26 – A large forest fire in the Groveton area requires the efforts of 300 firefighters and 30 pieces of equipment from various area departments to bring the fire under control.[1]
- October 29 – 27-year-old George W. Porter shoots and fatally wounds his 25-year-old common law wife Faye at the couple's Baileys Crossroads home. Faye is taken to the Alexandria Hospital, where she dies on November 7.[2][3][4]
- October 31 – 26-year-old security guard John N. Iorizzo fatally shoots 17-year-old Fairfax High School football player Howard A. Strang when Iorizzo catches Strang and several other youths vandalizing property at Lake Barcroft in Falls Church.[5]
