Spring L. Law

Sergeant First Class Spring Lisabeth Law (February 23, 1959 – August 15, 2000) was a soldier who was shot and mortally wounded by her former boyfriend, 35-year-old Charles T. Saunders, in front of the home wheere she was staying with friends on Fort Belvoir on August 15, 2000.[1]

Sergeant Law was flown to Inova Fairfax Hospital, where she died.[1]

Law graduated from West Haven High School in Connecticut in 1977 and joined the Army in October 1983. She had been with the Defense Logistics Agency since 1997, and served as an executive assistant to the command staff, working for both Director Henry T. Glisson and Vice Director Ray Carr.[2]

Law held the rank of Staff Sergeant when she was murdered, and was posthumously promoted to the rank of Sergeant First Class.
