- August 3 – Charles Caprino, an independent salesman of recreational agricultural products, is sentenced to 15 years in prison by Judge David T. Stitt for the murder of Orator W. Hall in Burke on December 10, 2006.[1]
- August 31 – 5-year-old Jana Hammad drowns in the pool at the Life Time Fitness center in Centreville.[2]
